Boca Raton, or Fort Lauderdale Overview:
A well-established Florida-based law firm is seeking a skilled and self-motivated Environmental Law Associate with a minimum of 4 years of experience to join its Administrative & Environmental Law Practice Group . This role is ideal for attorneys with strong legal research and analytical skills who are interested in a dynamic and collaborative legal environment. Positions are available in the firm’s Boca Raton, and Fort Lauderdale offices. Lateral partners with an existing book of business (circa $500,000) are also encouraged to apply. Firm:
The Administrative & Environmental Law Practice Group provides strategic legal counsel and representation in matters involving environmental regulation, permitting, land use, and administrative proceedings. The team advises both public and private sector clients on compliance, enforcement, and litigation arising under state and federal environmental laws. This position involves extensive legal and regulatory analysis and counseling across all facets of local, regional, state, and federal environmental law and permitting , including Chapters 373 and 403 of the Florida Statutes , the federal Clean Water Act , and associated administrative regulations. Additional experience in land use and/or local government law is beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle all aspects of environmental and administrative law matters, including litigation and regulatory proceedings. Draft advanced legal documents, pleadings, and memoranda with precision and clarity. Represent clients in proceedings before the Florida Division of Administrative Hearings (DOAH) and other regulatory bodies. Conduct complex legal research and provide actionable legal analysis. Advise clients on compliance with environmental regulations and permitting requirements. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop strategic legal solutions.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Member in good standing of the Florida Bar with a minimum of 4 years post JD Demonstrated capability in: Advanced legal analysis and document drafting. Complex research and writing tasks. Florida DOAH proceedings. Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure while also embracing teamwork. What the
