Position Summary
Our company is seeking a dedicated In-House Employment/HR Lawyer to provide legal counsel on all employment matters within our organization. The responsibilities include advising on employment law, overseeing employee disputes and making recommendations for resolution processes, and ensuring our business practices comply with all applicable regulations and laws. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in employment law, excellent negotiation skills, and must have the ability to maintain confidentiality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide advice and legal counsel to management on employment laws, regulations, and best practicesReview, draft, and revise company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulationsMake recommendations to Executive Team and coordinate with outside counsel in any employment litigation mattersNavigate and make recommendations to Executive Team as to resolution of employee disputes and complaintsAssist in negotiating and drafting employment contracts, severance agreements, and other employment-related documentsAdvise Executive Team on disciplinary matters, terminations, and other sensitive employment issuesConduct training sessions for HR, management, and employees on employment laws and policiesStay current on changes to employment laws and regulations and inform the necessary parties of any changes that could impact the businessWork closely with HR and management to strategically plan for potential legal impacts of proposed business changesUpdate and maintain employee manual as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Substantial knowledge of Windows Office.

Experience working with low-income community.

Experience in volunteer and event management.

Experience in data input and reports.

Knowledge of Spanish and/or Creole preferred.

Self-motivated.

Organized.

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Strong negotiation skills and the ability to interpret and explain legal languageExcellent communication, analytical and organizational skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret laws and regulations, and provide practical legal advice to the companyExcellent communication skills to articulate complex legal concepts to non-legal colleagues, negotiate contracts, and represent the company in any disputes or legal proceedingsOrganizational skills to manage multiple matters simultaneously and meet tight deadlinesAttention to detail to ensure all legal documents, contracts, and advice are accurate and compliant with the lawInterpersonal skills to build relationships with internal stakeholders, external counsels, and regulatory bodiesStrategic thinking and judgement to help the company avoid potential legal problems and risks
Education & Experience
Juris Doctor (JD) degree and Florida Bar LicenseFive to ten years proven experience as an Employment Lawyer, preferably for a corporation or businessExtensive knowledge of employment laws and legal proceduresExperience in employee complaints/disputes and dispute resolution and litigation processesCompany DescriptionPrismHR is a fast-paced SaaS company which provides customers with a cloud-based payroll process software application.
