Responsibilities:
Provide legal counsel on labor and employment matters, including employee relations, workplace policies, compliance with federal and state employment laws, and dispute resolution. Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, non-compete agreements, and other employment-related documents. Represent the company in labor and employment litigation, administrative proceedings, and arbitrations. Conduct internal investigations related to employee complaints, discrimination claims, and other workplace issues. Advise on matters related to employee benefits, wage and hour laws, and workplace safety regulations. Develop and implement training programs for management and staff on employment law compliance and best practices. Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure alignment with company policies and legal requirements. Stay current on changes in labor and employment laws and regulations, and provide proactive guidance to mitigate legal risks.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Minimum of 6 years of experience in labor and employment law, preferably within the healthcare industry. Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and Title VII. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
