Full Job Description Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Associate Attorney to join our growing law firm. This role requires a confident litigator with at least 2 years of hands-on experience handling criminal defense and family law matters. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing their own caseload, appearing in court regularly, and working closely with clients during challenging times.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent clients in court for criminal and family law matters, including hearings, trials, and motions Handle all phases of litigation from case initiation to resolution Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence Conduct legal research and analysis to develop case strategies Negotiate settlements and plea deals when appropriate Maintain frequent and clear communication with clients, opposing counsel, and the court Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff to ensure top-tier client representation Stay current on relevant laws and procedural rules
Minimum Requirements:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school Active license in good standing with the State of Florida bar Minimum of 2 years practicing law, with direct experience in litigation, criminal defense, or family law Strong courtroom presence and litigation skills Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical abilities Highly organized with the ability to handle a high caseload Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with case management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase) Bilingual (Spanish or other language) is a plus Familiarity with local courts and procedures
