Job Description Barakat + Bossa, a Chambers-ranked business law firm based in Coral Gables, Florida, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commerical Litigation Attorney to join our litigation team in Jacksonville. POSITION SUMMARY
As a Commerical Litigation Attorney at Barakat + Bossa, you will represent business clients in a wide range of commercial litigation matters, including breach of contract, partnership disputes, business torts, and employment-related litigation. The ideal candidate is a strong advocate with a strategic mindset, capable of managing cases from intake through trial or resolution. RESPONSIBILITIES
Handle all aspects of business litigation, including client counseling, case strategy, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting discovery, depositions, and court appearances.
Represent clients in state and federal courts, as well as arbitration and mediation forums.
Analyze legal issues and prepare high-quality legal memoranda, briefs, and case evaluations.
Engage in settlement negotiations and communicate effectively with clients about litigation risks and outcomes.
Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to ensure effective and efficient case management.
Stay current on litigation trends, case law developments, and procedural rules.
Support mentoring and training of junior attorneys and legal staff when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Admitted to the Florida Bar and in good standing.
4-6 years of commercial litigation experience at a reputable law firm.
Demonstrated experience in commercial litigation;employment/labor litigation experience is a significant plus.
Florida Bar Board Certification in Business Litigation and/or Labor & Employment Law a plus.
Exceptional legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to clients and colleagues.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively.
Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills and a keen eye for accuracy.
Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and development.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite/Teams.
Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese) a plus.
