The ideal candidate will bedetail-oriented, adept at negotiation and organization. In thisrole, the attorney will prepare wills, trusts, and power ofattorney documents, ensuring that clients’ estates are administeredaccording to their intentions. Extensive familiarity with estateplanning principles is required. Interested applicants areencouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
Represent clients at courthearings related to estate matters when necessary Meet with clientsto discuss their asset distribution objectives Collaborate withsenior partners and paralegals to navigate litigation and relatedprocedures Analyze each client’s situation, develop a legalstrategy, and advise on an appropriate course of action Maintainorganized, up-to-date client files and case records Draft andreview wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planningdocuments Advise clients on estate planning methods, taxconsiderations, and asset protection techniques Assist with probateproceedings, including preparing required filings, representingclients in court, and managing estate administration tasks Overseeestate and trust administration, ensuring compliance withapplicable laws and regulations Explain complex legal processes andoptions to clients in clear, understandable terms Provide counselon business formation and special needs planning when relevantDraft legal instruments related to trusts, wills, powers ofattorney, and business entities Work closely with clients to createand implement strategies that safeguard and preserve their assets
Qualifications and Knowledge:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from anaccredited law school; undergraduate degree required Admission tothe Florida Bar in good standing Willingness to work from ourLakeland office and ability to work from our Jacksonville office Aminimum of one to two years of law firm experience handling estateplanning and probate matters Familiarity with trusts and estatespractice, including estate planning, probate, and trustadministration Understanding of tax planning, asset protection,wealth transfer, and business entity formation Experience withfederal estate tax returns and federal gift tax returns is a plusKnowledge of real estate matters such as title insurance, wills andtrusts, property management, and related litigation Strong writtenand verbal communication skills, especially in high-stress oremotionally charged situations Excellent attention to detail and aproactive approach to problem-solving and client service Activemembership with the American Bar Association (ABA) Interested inhearing more?
