Overview:
A leading Tampa law firm is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial Litigation Associate to join its thriving litigation practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in complex commercial disputes, excellent analytical and advocacy skills, and a desire to handle high-stakes cases for prominent clients. This is an exciting opportunity to gain significant courtroom experience while working alongside experienced attorneys in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities :
Represent clients in a wide range of commercial litigation matters, including breach of contract, business torts, shareholder disputes, and financial fraud claims. Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses. Assist in case preparation, including legal research, strategy development, and fact-finding. Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials. Communicate with clients to provide case updates, legal advice, and recommendations. Collaborate with senior attorneys and firm partners on complex litigation matters. Manage cases from inception through resolution, including settlement negotiations and trial preparation.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active Florida Bar membership. 3+ years of commercial litigation experience, preferably in a law firm environment. Strong academic background and excellent legal writing skills. Proven experience in drafting and arguing motions, managing discovery, and preparing for trial. Ability to handle multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build client relationships.
