This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative docketing team that spans regions, ensuring accurate and timely legal calendaring in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and has the confidence to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
Responsibilities:
Review documents and utilize a rules-based docket system to generate deadlines. Analyze court filings to create and manage critical deadlines using a rules-based docketing system. Collaborate with attorneys and legal support staff to confirm case details and clarify procedural questions. Maintain a deep understanding of state and federal litigation, appellate procedures, and related court rules. Conduct legal rule and statute research as needed to ensure accuracy and compliance. Keep up to date with changes in docketing best practices, procedural developments, and rule amendments. Mentor and train new team members on internal systems and standard operating procedures. Review the work of junior docketing staff to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to policies. Take the lead on department-specific initiatives and contribute to special projects.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of docketing experience using systems like CompuLaw, CourtAlert, or eDockets. In-depth knowledge of Florida or Texas court systems and applicable legal procedures. Experience supporting multiple litigation areas including, but not limited to, civil, appellate, labor and employment, bankruptcy, and workers’ compensation. Proven ability to interpret complex legal rules and guidelines accurately. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization. High degree of professionalism, initiative, and commitment to delivering excellent service. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
