Job Purpose
Arbor Realty Trust seeks to add Collections Counsel to its Legal department. The ideal candidate has seven-plus years of substantive law firm or in-house experience in the areas of creditor rights, judgment enforcement, and collections. Such experience ideally includes matters within the commercial real estate industry.
Essential Job Functions (Duties/Responsibilities)
The Counsel will have the following duties and responsibilities:
Conduct legal and factual analysis in connection with judgment enforcement and collections matters
Develop and execute strategy for pursuing debtors and their assets and collecting judgments
Work closely with legal, compliance, and business stakeholders to achieve strategic goals
Coordinate with outside counsel and consultants as necessary
Qualifications
Education:
Juris Doctorate (JD) required.
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in enforcing judgments. Admission to practice in New York or Florida. Experience with commercial real estate.

Arbor Realty Trust, Inc. offers a competitive base salary and discretionary bonus. The starting base salary range for this position is $200,000 to $250,000. The specific compensation that will be offered is based on an understanding of the hired candidates’ qualifications at the time of hire. Employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus based on employee work performance reviewed during the course of the year. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
