Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Immigration Attorney with at least 2 years of experience handling humanitarian visas , especially VAWA and T Visa cases. The successful candidate will play a critical role in reviewing client intake notes, assessing case eligibility, and issuing clear legal recommendations for case openings. This is not a traditional 9-to-5 position. Our front-end team is based in Mexico City, and collaboration across time zones is essential. Peak working hours are typically between 12 PM and 8 PM (EST) , and availability for Saturday communication is expected. We are looking for someone highly responsive, mission-driven, and eager to grow with the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and assess detailed client intake notes from our Mexico City-based team Make strategic legal recommendations on case viability (primarily VAWA and T Visa) Provide written feedback and legal analysis to support the case-opening process Maintain clear and timely communication with cross-border staff and leadership Stay up-to-date on USCIS policy updates and humanitarian visa trends Occasionally support urgent or high-priority legal assessments Help foster a culture of compassion, integrity, and collaboration
Required Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state Minimum 2 years of experience in U.S. immigration law , with a focus on VAWA and/or T Visa cases Strong understanding of the legal and evidentiary standards for humanitarian visa eligibility Excellent written and verbal communication skills Comfortable working flexibly, with peak hours from 12 PM to 8 PM EST Reliable, fast responder who thrives in a collaborative, mission-focused environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Spanish proficiency is a strong asset Experience working with international or remote teams Long-term interest in growth and leadership within a fast-paced law firm
