Responsibilities:
- Owning your cases with help and guidance
- Thinking ahead and preparing in advance
- Communicating often and effectively with clients
- Conduct research and write pleadings, briefs, and motions
- Argue hearings and conduct depositions
- Handling all phases of discovery
- Negotiating settlements, informally or in mediation
- Supporting and collaborating with fellow attorneys
- Working closely with and providing leadership to paralegals andother administrative staff who support you
Qualifications:
- Florida Bar member with 3+ years of experience, includingactive litigation work
- Background in litigation, including motions, depositions, andmediations
- 3+ years handling Property Insurance cases, on either plaintiffor defense side
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; you’ll speakwith clients and opposing counsel often
- Able to manage a full caseload independently and stayorganized
- Familiar with Microsoft Office and legal research tools likeWestlaw
- You’re professional, respectful, and comfortable with collegialrelationships-even across the aisle
- Trial experience is a plus, but not required
- You’re competitive, driven to win, and committed to constantimprovement
