We are seeking a Senior Vice President, Counsel to support the BNYPershing Wealth Services Platform and the broader BNY enterprise asneeded This role is located in NYC, Pittsburgh, PA OR Lake Mary,FL- Hybrid 3 days in office In this role, you’ll make an impact inthe following ways: Report to the Head of BNY Pershing Legal andserve as a key adviser to the business. Manage and negotiatecontracts for Pershing for a variety of advisory, brokerage,technology, and operational services. Provide general legal supportto the broker-dealer. registered investment adviser and technologyaffiliate as needed. Advise on new product development andregulatory risk management decisions. Provide business leaders andassociates with advice and guidance in identifying the criticalproblems to which the application of legal principals yields thegreatest opportunities for minimizing risks and maximizing profits.
Keep informed on legislation and rulemaking affecting businessoperations and developments in corporate and securities lawpractice and update the team and management as appropriate.
Collaborate with business leaders and associates to develop legaland regulatory best practices. To be successful in this role, we’reseeking the following: 3 -7 years experience, 5 years preferredlegal experience with a focus on contracts and investment advisoryand/or broker-dealer issues. Prior corporate legal experiencewithin the financial services industry or experience in assignedpractice area (e.g., securities, employment, etc.) with an outsidelaw firm is preferred. Experience with a Broker-Dealer, RegisteredInvestment Adviser or regulatory agency preferred. Excellent oraland written communication skills, including strong presentationabilities. Strong interpersonal skills to influence and impactbusiness decisions. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamicenvironment that requires hands-on support and business teamwork.

The base salary for thisposition is expected to be between $116,000 and $200,000 per yearat the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hiredwill be determined on an individualized basis, including as toexperience and market location, and is only part of the BNY totalcompensation package, which, depending on the position, may alsoinclude commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short andlong-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefitprograms. This position is at-will and the Company reserves theright to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionarypayment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons relatedto individual performance, change in geographic location, Companyor individual department/team performance, and market factors.
