We’re seeking a future team member for the role of SeniorVice-President/Counsel to join our Global Markets and TreasuryServices Team in our Legal Department. The attorney who fills thisrole will be expected to contribute as part of a larger team(located across BNY’s U.S. offices) that advises our FX andDerivatives trading businesses. This position will focus ondelivering effective legal support for revenue-generating activity,and implementation of strategic and regulatory change, for thosebusiness areas. A successful applicant will work closely withbusiness colleagues to respond to their priorities and to support agrowing and demanding business model. This role could be located inLake Mary, FL, Pittsburgh PA or New York, NY. The role is hybridbut requires a commitment of in-office work 3-days per week. Inthis role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Providinglegal advice and guidance on FX and Derivatives related regulationand legislation, new markets, and new product development; Workingclosely with business managers and control functions (Compliance,Credit, Risk, Legal) to ensure understanding of the banksregulatory and contractual obligations; Assisting with responses toregulator exams and other relevant inquiries and internal audits;Drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal contracts, includingISDAs and related documentation; Developing documentation for newservices, markets, and strategic business initiatives Workingcollaboratively, seeking guidance and input from colleaguesthroughout the organization. Partner with colleagues who serve inRisk, Credit, and Compliance. Supporting other legal functions andadjacent business areas within the Markets Division. Managingoutside counsel both domestic and international, reviewing work forappropriateness, quality, and alignment to expectation; andMaintaining an understanding of global regulatory issues impactingthe business through engagement with APAC and EMEA colleagues. Tobe successful in this role, we’re seeking the following: JurisDoctor degree from an accredited law school and a minimum of 3-7years of admitted legal practice with a law firm or relevantin-house experience; Licensed attorney admitted to practice inFlorida, Pennsylvania or New York (subject to approval);Demonstrated knowledge of foreign exchange, derivatives and othercapital markets transactions; Mastery in drafting, reviewing, andnegotiating legal documents; Demonstrated ability to manage ademanding book of work; Excellent communication and collaborationskills; and Strong working knowledge of laws and regulations in thefield of foreign exchange and derivatives as well as broaderregulatory and/or execution services experience. The base salary for thisposition is expected to be between $113,000 and $200,000 per yearat the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hiredwill be determined on an individualized basis, including as toexperience and market location, and is only part of the BNY totalcompensation package, which, depending on the position, may alsoinclude commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short andlong-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefitprograms. This position is at-will and the Company reserves theright to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionarypayment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons relatedto individual performance, change in geographic location, Companyor individual department/team performance, and market factors.
