$89.2K – $131K a year 1 day ago Qualifications Mid-level 3 years Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking an experienced first party property damage attorney bar licensed in Florida to be a Managing Attorney of a Florida office of a law firm. You will immediately be given a docket of $50million of damage across 32 properties/owners.
Requirements:
1) have at least 3-5 years of first party insurance work experience, on the plaintiff or the defense side 2) be open to additional business development efforts, such as meeting with public adjusters and contractors (during the day in their offices but also dinners, conferences etc. will be great business development opportunities) 3) Be well-spoken and able to meet with property owners to close business 4) Be able to handle your own docket of up to 100+ files at a time 5) Be extremely responsive and communicative to your clients and also your referral partners. If a client or referral partner calls you, you must return their call the same day or ideally pick up when they call. Same thing with texts or e-mails. Customer service, ethics, and compliance are of the utmost importance but even if no update has occurred our firm has a strict communication policy where our attorneys must be responsive to clients and referral partners. The $1.2 Million compensation figure is based on a) $20,000 per month draw b) 10% of Net Attorney Fees (the $50 million docket being handed to you should ideally pay you more than the $1.2 million) You will be given an extensive amount of support staff including other senior attorneys, junior attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, etc. to assist in all your efforts. Duties Handle all phases of first-party insurance pre-litigation and litigation from intake through settlement or trial Evaluate, analyze, and manage complex property damage claims and coverage issues Draft and respond to pleadings, discovery, and motions in state and federal court Conduct depositions of parties, witnesses, experts, and corporate representatives Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and trials when required Communicate proactively with clients, public adjusters, and experts to develop case strategy Maintain accurate and organized case files and legal documentation Work collaboratively with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff
