The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law , with additional experience or willingness to handle civil litigation , guardianship , adoption , and immigration law . This role requires the ability to manage cases from start to finish, engage directly with clients, and appear in court as needed. The right attorney will be comfortable working with minimal supervision and motivated to grow into managing their own caseload as attorney of record. Duties Represent clients primarily in family law matters, including dissolution, paternity, custody, and support. Handle additional litigation areas such as adoption, guardianship, and civil disputes , with optional immigration casework. Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other filings using tools such as Clio and Google Workspace. Advocate for clients in remote and in-person hearings, mediations, and trials . Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case progress, legal options, and strategy. Optionally conduct consultations with prospective clients. Manage all aspects of case preparation and compliance with applicable court rules and procedures. Collaborate with a small legal team, including 1-2 attorneys and 1-2 paralegals, while owning your daily workflow. Requirements Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Active member of The Florida Bar in good standing. 2-10 years of litigation experience, with a strong emphasis on family law . Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle sensitive client matters with professionalism. Willingness to appear for in-person court proceedings throughout Florida as necessary. Proficient in legal tech tools such as Clio, Google Workspace apps , and Florida courts e-filing systems. Strong writing, courtroom advocacy, and client communication skills.
