Job Description

The individual in this position is primarily responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating all contracts related to ACA Group’s subsidiary broker dealers and other contracts, including complex and sophisticated agreements. The individual in this position also is responsible for handling a variety of complex regulatory and compliance matters and assisting the Legal Department with a variety of projects across a range of areas and will be integral to the efficient operation of the Legal Department. This role can be based in one of our office locations on a hybrid schedule or a remote location will also be considered. What you’ll do: Draft, review, and negotiate all contracts related to ACA’s subsidiary broker-dealers Research and provide legal advice to ACA business regarding broker-dealer and mutual fund distribution, including related regulatory and compliance issues
Communicate and interact with ACA clients, outside counsel, service providers, and others regarding contract terms and conditions and other information
Keep abreast of regulatory developments that impact ACA’s subsidiary broker-dealers and update contracts and related policies accordingly
Supervise, train, evaluate, oversee, and provide feedback to junior colleagues
Perform ad-hoc work/special projects as necessary to support ACA on various client and internal initiatives To Qualify for the role, you will have: Juris doctor degree required, licensed in at least one jurisdiction
Five to seven prior years legal experience at a law firm, regulatory agency, or in-house setting; experience in a broker-dealer, mutual fund, financial services, investment firm, or regulatory agency strongly preferred
Significant experience negotiating complex agreements with large, sophisticated counterparties, including major financial institutions and top-tier law firms. Ideally, you’ll also have: Strong knowledge of the FINRA rules and the Investment Company Act of 1940.
Working knowledge of mutual fund distribution. Skills and Attributes for
