The Position The CLO provides strategic leadership and oversight of all legal affairs, ensuring corporate integrity, regulatory compliance, and effective risk management. This role involves advising the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Directors, and leading legal strategy across areas like risk management, labor and employment, regulatory compliance, contracts, intellectual property, real estate, and mergers and acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities Executive Leadership & Legal Strategy :
Advising senior executives and the Board, participating in strategic ventures.
Legal Services Oversight :
Managing legal services delivery, budget, and performance standards.
Corporate Governance & Board Support :
Serving as Corporate Secretary, advising on governance and compliance.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management :
Leading compliance initiatives and offering legal guidance on regulatory frameworks.
Contracting & Transactional Support :
Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating various contracts.
Medical Staff Legal Support :
Supporting credentialing, privileging, and governance activities.
Institutional Ethics & Patient Care Support :
Advising on medical-legal matters.
Operational & Administrative Counsel :
Advising on corporate, operational, and employment-related matters.
Litigation Management & External Relations :
Coordinating with outside counsel on litigation and legal projects.
Qualifications Education :
Juris Doctor degree required; licensed or eligible to practice law in Georgia.
Experience :
8-10+ years in healthcare legal matters, including contracts, fraud and abuse, privacy, employment law, litigation, compliance, real estate, and governance.
Skills :
Strong organizational, facilitation, communication, and presentation skills; ability to build trust and communicate effectively.
