Job Summary:
The Litigation Manager proactively manages a significant, fast-paced litigation caseload involving the prosecution and defense of legal disputes, including first-hand supervision of external legal counsel and facilitation of legal advice for internal business partners.
Primary Responsibilities:
Comply with all legal and professionalism standards and regulations.
Detailed management of claims and litigation within assigned jurisdiction.
Prepare and draft legal correspondence and discovery on behalf of company.
Initiate litigation holds and conduct high-volume document review for production.
Hire and proactively oversee outside counsel representation to protect company’s interests.
Negotiate settlements on behalf of the company at settlement conferences and mediations.
Testify as corporate representative at depositions.
Represent the company at arbitrations and trials.
Required Experience:
5 to 7 years experience as litigation paralegal
Thorough knowledge of company’s industry, products and services
Working knowledge of civil litigation terminology, practices, and procedures
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic litigation environment, independently and with initiative
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external business partners
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and plan against a set of constantly changing goals
Familiarity with MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and litigation management technology (e.g., Legal Tracker, Relativity)
Required Education:
