Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Temporary Intellectual Property Litigation Attorney to join our client’s legal team on a contract basis. This individual will play a critical role in supporting active IP litigation matters, specifically in the areas of trade secret/trade dress, IP contracts, artificial intelligence, and patents. The ideal candidate will have a strong litigation background and be able to step into complex matters with minimal ramp-up. The firm is a distinguished boutique law firm, providing comprehensive counseling to clients as they develop, register, enforce, and defend their intellectual property rights globally. They represent a diverse clientele, including public and private companies, as well as artists and celebrities. Their private clients are typically backed by tier-one venture capitalists, and the firm excels at building global IP portfolios that facilitate capital raises, mergers and acquisitions, or other exit strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle all aspects of intellectual property litigation, including case assessment, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation. Draft legal documents such as briefs, motions, and memoranda. Conduct legal research and provide strategic input on case development. Manage and respond to discovery requests, including document review and production. Work closely with in-house counsel, outside counsel, technical experts, and clients. Participate in settlement discussions and negotiations as needed.
Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing. 7+ years of litigation experience, with a focus on intellectual property matters. Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
