The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of family law and demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills. This role involves providing essential support to attorneys in managing family law cases, conducting legal research, and calendaring and managing deadlines. Responsibilities Conduct thorough legal research related to family law matters, utilizing tools such as Westlaw. Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence. Managing case schedules, deadlines, and track client goals and progress. Ensure meticulous follow-up and ensure that no deadlines are missed. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Georgia cases and family law statutes. Complete child support worksheets. Meet with clients and draft Domestic Relations Financial Worksheets. Analyze discovery and review key findings with attorneys. Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in family law cases. Assist attorneys in trial preparation by gathering evidence and preparing exhibits. Prior experience with hourly billing and case management systems required. Requirements Proven experience as a paralegal or in a similar role within the legal field, specifically in family law. Strong legal research skills with proficiency in using Westlaw or Lexis or similar platforms. Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficient in legal administrative tasks including e-filing, document management, and client communication. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
