Please email the above documents to: Janeann Allison, Administrative Services Director jallison@gainesvillega.gov The City Solicitor works with Municipal Court staff to ensure proper prosecutorial coverage. The Solicitor shall be appointed by the governing body of the City of Gainesville for a term of two years. The Solicitor may be removed at any time by the governing body of the City of Gainesville at its sole discretion. Job Duties To prosecute persons charged with violating ordinances of the city or of any other law over which the municipal court has jurisdiction; to assist the judge and other officers and personnel of the court in achieving justice in all cases; and to perform such other duties as are or may be required by law or by ordinance of which necessarily appertain to this office. The candidate must have the ability to work well with court personnel and stakeholders, including: City Council, City Administration, Municipal Court Management and Staff, Law Enforcement Officers, Lawyers, Defendants, Witnesses, the City Solicitor and the Municipal Court Judge. Be available to attend Municipal Court sessions, which are currently held each Monday and Thursday.

Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience:

The Solicitor of the Municipal Court must be of good moral character. Must have attained the age of 25 years and shall have been admitted to the State Bar of Georgia. Shall have practiced law for at least one year at the time of his or her appointment

Licenses and Certifications:

Valid Class C Driver’s License and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) desirable but may be required depending on department. Supplemental Information v
