We are actively seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, andmotivated Workers Compensation Associate Attorney with a focus onDefense Base Act/Longshore & Harbor Workers Compensation. This roleis a unique opportunity to join a thriving team and handle adiverse array of complex legal matters. The ideal candidate musthave a strong background in Defense Base Act, longshore and harborworkers compensation, federal workers compensation, and workerscompensation defense. This position will require a proactiveindividual who can handle high-stakes cases with autonomy andintegrity, providing the highest level of service to our clients.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide comprehensive legal advice andrepresentation to clients in all aspects of workers compensationdefense, with a focus on Defense Base Act/Longshore & HarborWorkers Compensation. 2. Conduct thorough case analyses, developstrategic litigation plans, and manage all stages of the litigationprocess, from investigation, pleadings and discovery to pre-trial,trial, settlement, and appeal. 3. Draft, review, and negotiatecomplex legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs,contracts, and agreements. 4. Advocate for clients in depositions,mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials. 5. Collaborate withother attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure theefficient and effective handling of cases. 6. Maintain up-to-dateknowledge of laws, regulations, and industry trends affectingworkers compensation, and advise clients accordingly. 7. Build andmaintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptionalcustomer service and ensuring client satisfaction. 8. Contribute tobusiness development efforts, including networking, speakingengagements, and other initiatives to attract new clients andstrengthen existing client relationships.
Qualifications:
1. JurisDoctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. 2. Admission tothe State Bar and in good standing. 3. 1-5 years of experience as aWorkers Compensation Attorney, with a focus on Defense BaseAct/Longshore & Harbor Workers Compensation. 4. Proven expertise infederal workers compensation and workers compensation defense. 5.Exceptional legal research, writing, negotiation, and advocacyskills. 6. Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and workindependently, with minimal supervision. 7. Strong analytical andproblem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail. 8.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the abilityto build relationships with clients, colleagues, and otherstakeholders. 9. Commitment to upholding the highest standards oflegal ethics and professionalism. 10. Proficiency in legal researchsoftware and Microsoft Office Suite. Interested in hearing more?
