We provide free civil legal aid to low-income households. Our attorneys serve this region from offices in Baton Rouge, Covington, Gretna, Hammond, Houma, and New Orleans. SLLS is currently looking to fill:
STAFF ATTORNEY CHILD IN NEED OF CARE
The Child in Need of Care (CINC) Staff Attorney represents children in court in abuse/neglect proceedings covering St. Bernard Parish, 34th Judicial District Court.
This position requires six hours of child-specific continuing legal education (CLE). Upon acceptance, the CLE can be completed online and maintained annually.
This position has an office in the New Orleans office, and it can work 100% remotely.
Staff Attorney positions must be licensed to practice law in Louisiana or pending exam results with admission to the Louisiana Bar. The starting salary for a full-time staff attorney is $54,563, which increases depending on experience. The salary range for this staff attorney position is $54,563 – $90,563, with a maximum starting salary of $81,563. Bilingualism is a plus that receives extra compensation. SLLS does reimburse moving expenses.
