Description We are looking for an experienced Attorney with a strong background in appellate law to join our team on a contract basis. This role involves the drafting and prosecution of appellate briefs and requires expertise in navigating appeals processes. Based in Boston, Massachusetts, this position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-stakes cases while honing specialized legal skills.

Responsibilities:

• Draft detailed and persuasive appellate briefs in compliance with legal standards and court requirements.
• Conduct thorough legal research to support appeals and identify relevant case precedents.
• Manage the appeals process from docketing decisions to filing briefs within the required timelines.
• Collaborate with legal teams to analyze case records and develop effective appellate strategies.
• Utilize case management and document management software to organize and track case files.
• Handle claim administration and complaint resolution as part of appellate procedures.
• Provide expert guidance on civil litigation matters tied to appellate cases.
• Ensure accuracy and adherence to legal protocols in all appellate documentation.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of appellate law and evolving legal practices. Requirements
• Proven experience in appellate law and drafting appellate briefs.
• Proficiency in using legal tools such as Adobe Acrobat, case management software, and document management systems.
• Strong expertise in civil litigation and appeals processes.
• Familiarity with complaint handling and claim administration.
• Exceptional legal research and analytical skills.
• Ability to work within strict deadlines and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with legal teams and present arguments.
• A Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active bar membership in Massachusetts.
