The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of patent law, with the ability to navigate complex legal issues related to intellectual property. This role requires excellent writing and negotiation skills, as well as the capability to litigate cases effectively. The Patent Attorney will work closely with clients to protect their inventions and innovations, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Duties Draft, review, and file patent applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Conduct thorough patent searches and analyses to assess the viability of patent applications Provide legal advice on patentability, infringement, and enforcement matters Negotiate licensing agreements and settlements on behalf of clients Represent clients in litigation related to patent disputes in court or before administrative agencies Collaborate with inventors and businesses to understand their inventions and provide strategic guidance Stay updated on changes in patent law and related fields to ensure compliance and best practices Skills Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents, including patents and briefs In-depth knowledge of Patent Law, including procedures for filing and prosecuting patents Ability to litigate effectively in patent disputes and other related areas of law Proficient in negotiation techniques for securing favorable terms in agreements Familiarity with various areas of law such as Workers Compensation Law, Family Law, Securities Law, Immigration Law, and Personal Injury Law is a plus Excellent analytical skills to assess complex legal issues and develop effective strategies Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and regulatory bodies This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated attorney looking to make a significant impact in the field of intellectual property law.
