Full-Time (Exempt) Position Summary
The Associate Counsel position supports all business units of Tepper Sports & Entertainment (“TSE”), namely the Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Football Club (and its affiliates) and Bank of America Stadium, with respect to their business interests in various commercial matters. This includes drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial agreements with vendors, sponsors, and other counterparties, which necessitates working closely with various departments within TSE and its related entities to anticipate, identify and manage liability areas and legal exposure. Primary Responsibilities
Prepare, review and negotiate all varieties of legal documents including, but not limited to, broadcast agreements, event agreements, sponsorship agreements, merchandising agreements, suite license agreements, vendor/service agreements, waivers, consents, confidentiality agreements and medical services agreements.
Work closely with sales and revenue departments to draft, negotiate and review contracts, including corporate partnership and media (television, radio, and digital) agreements.
Work with all business units on vendor agreements and service agreements.
Work closely with individual departments and related entities to anticipate, identify and manage liability areas and legal exposure. Interpret, draft/revise and administer guidance related to NFL and MLS commercial rules.
Assist in the development and maintenance of relationships with key corporate partners.
Represent the organization at community, civic and corporate functions, as requested.
Participate in special projects as requested.
Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity and dedication in the fulfillment of commitments.
Perform other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications
Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school
3-5 years of experience, with at least two years at a law firm preferred
Licensed to practice law in any state, be in good standing with the corresponding state bar association
Highly motivated individual capable of working in a fast-paced, complex environment
Superior written and oral communication, analytical and organizational skills
Business contract drafting and negotiation skills
Excellent proofreading ability and very strong attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills including ability to communicate effectively with a variety of contacts, including outside attorneys, senior management and business associates
Strong research, analytical, and investigative skills; ability to document and present findings in a clear and concise manner
Ability to work independently, but comfortable working in a collaborative environment
Ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize those assignments under very tight deadlines
Highly proficient in MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to work extended hours and/or weekends as required by deadlines and event scheduling
Must be able to handle confidential, privileged, and/or sensitive information with care and sensitivity
Ability to make sound decisions and exercise independent judgement and discretion with integrity and accountability, while working in a fast-paced, high-demand, and sometimes strenuous environment
Comfortable with constructive criticism
Must pass pre-employment screens Preferred Qualifications
Member in good standing of the state bar of North Carolina
Experience working or familiarity with professional sports teams or leagues
Full professional fluency in the Spanish language a plus Physical Requirements

Walking throughout the stadium facility, sometimes for an extended period of time. Work Environment
This job operates primarily in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The job may require travel to off-site events.
