Job Overview This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of our law office while contributing to the success of our clients. The ideal candidate will support multiple attorneys in various legal tasks, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and timely. This role requires that the candidate possesses proficient computer skills along with excellent written and verbal communication; In addition, a strong attention to detail, understanding of legal terminology, excellent research skills, and familiarity with legal software and document management systems. Responsibilities Assist attorneys with case preparation by organizing and managing case files. Conduct legal research using relevant databases. Draft, proofread, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, and correspondence. Manage calendars for attorneys, scheduling appointments and court dates/correspondence as necessary. Maintain accurate records in document management systems. Communicate with clients and opposing counsel regarding case updates and gather necessary information. Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals and other staff to ensure smooth office operations. Bill for hours using a minimum billing scale and consistently track/maintain hours. Skills/Qualifications Previous experience in a family law firm is required. Proficient computer skills – Microsoft Office Programs, Web-Based Programs Proficient with legal research tools such. Familiarity with document management systems – Clio Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of legal drafting are essential for performing job duties, effective client interaction, and firm representation. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities that support case development and attorney requests. Legal administrative skills that enhance office efficiency.
