Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-orientedInternal Counsel to oversee all immigration-related legal mattersand assist with employment labor law compliance. This role willensure the company adheres to all applicable immigration and laborlaws while supporting the human resources and operations teams inemployment-related legal matters. The ideal candidate will have astrong background in immigration processes, employment law, andregulatory compliance within the construction or engineeringindustry.
Responsibilities Immigration Law:
Independently manageall corporate immigration matters, including H-1B, L-1, PERM, andother employment-based visas. Liaise with government agencies, suchas USCIS, DOL, and DOS, on immigration matters. Prepare and reviewimmigration-related documents, including petitions, applications,and supporting documentation. Advise HR and management on visasponsorship, employment authorization, and I-9 compliance. Ensurecompliance with all federal, state, and international immigrationlaws and regulations. Maintain accurate records and reportingrelated to immigration compliance. Process USCIS filings, USCISdocument processing, and PERM job postings, assist with daily adminquestions, and review work product to ensure legal accuracy andquality.
Employment & Labor Law Assistance:
Assist in providinglegal counsel on employment matters, including wage and hour laws,discrimination, harassment, employee classification, and workplacesafety. Support HR in drafting, reviewing, and updating employmentpolicies, contracts, handbooks, and compliance-relateddocumentation. Advise HR on terminations, layoffs, severanceagreements, and employee relations issues to mitigate legal risks.
Assist in handling employment-related disputes and claims beforeregulatory agencies such as the EEOC, DOL, and OSHA. Monitorchanges in employment and labor laws and provide proactive guidanceto ensure company compliance. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD)degree from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice law inany state within the US, with preference for multi-jurisdictionallicensing. 5 years of experience in immigration law, preferablywithin the construction or engineering industry. 3 years ofexperience in employment law, preferably within the construction orengineering industry. Strong understanding of employment-basedimmigration processes and compliance requirements. Experiencehandling employment litigation and regulatory compliance. Excellentcommunication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability towork independently and collaboratively with HR, operations, andexecutive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in thegeotechnical, construction, or engineering industry. Familiaritywith OSHA regulations and labor union laws. Previous in-housecounsel experience.
Additional Information Salary Range :
$113,500-137,500 Actual salary will be based on a variety offactors including relevant internal and external experience,knowledge, skills, scope of job, geographical location or otherfactors permitted by law
