SCOPE OF POSITION

The Assistant County Attorney Seeks justice with professionalism, excellence and pride, consistent with the New Hampshire Rules of Professional Conduct, American Bar Association and National District Attorney’s Association guidelines, as a criminal prosecutor in the Superior Court.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Acting as a counsel for the State of New Hampshire in criminal matters, the Assistant County Attorney researches pertinent case law, drafts indictments, complaints & pleadings and further presents investigations and cases to the Grand Jury, conducts Bench trials, Jury trials, and all required hearings related to their assigned caseload. They maintain a collaborative working relationship with victim/witness coordinators to ensure that all victims and witnesses are properly informed, prepared, and supported through the prosecution process. Further, they collaborate with police, members of the public, and court staff.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Juris Doctor from accredited law school. Must be admitted into the New Hampshire Bar Association.

STATUS/SHIFT

Full Time / Exempt Equal Employment Opportunity. Mandatory post offer physical and drug testing for new hire. Criminal records check required.
