This AVP, Claim – Coverage & Complex individual contributor rolerequires a high degree of specialized and technical competencemanaging high exposure coverage litigation and arbitrations indesignated Casualty practice areas including, Personal Lines,Primary & Excess Casualty, Medical Risk and Life Sciences,Environmental, Multinational/Aviation, Construction BI & CI andMarine and Agri-business. This position will require some travel,as well as coordinating with and servicing both internal andexternal business partners. Responsibilities Selection of andmanagement of outside counsel with respect to coverage disputeslitigation and arbitrations. Management and oversight of allaspects of coverage litigation and arbitration includingdevelopment of litigation and resolution strategies. Management ofdiscovery requests. Attendance at deposition prep, depositions,mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences and trials.

Providing pre-litigation advice and review of complex coverageissues. Identifying litigation trends and developing opportunitiesto address these trends. Developing and maintaining a productiveengagement and business relationship with Underwriting andActuarial partners. Proactively participate, and occasionally lead,in the development of training opportunities, including preparingtraining materials, and coordinating/presenting presentations.

Providing effective coaching, education, and development for morejunior staff. Presentations to senior management. QualificationsMinimum of 10 years’ experience as an attorney or claimprofessional with a high degree of specialized and technicalcompetence in casualty coverage issues, litigation management andthe handling of complex coverage issues, and coverage litigation. Alaw degree is required. Excellent written and verbal communicationsskills. Demonstrates strong self-reliance by working independentlywith minimal guidance. Demonstrated ability to communicateefficiently and effectively. Excellent presentation andfacilitation skills. Must be both service and results driven,highly analytical and detail-oriented with the ability to maketimely and appropriate decisions. Advanced organizational and timemanagement skills. Excellent collaboration, teamwork, andinterpersonal skills. Must obtain and maintain necessary licenses.

If you do not already have one, you will be required to obtain anapplicable resident or designated home state adjusters license andpossibly additional state licensure. The pay range for the role is$110,800 to $188,400. The specific offer will depend on anapplicant’s skills and other factors.
