Insurance Defense Attorney – In-House Position Available In Mercer, New Jersey

Description We are looking for a skilled Insurance Defense Attorney to join our in-house legal team in Princeton, New Jersey. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented legal expert with experience in civil litigation and insurance defense, who thrives in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will handle a diverse caseload, providing expert legal guidance and representation in matters related to personal injury, liability claims, and insurance disputes.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a high-volume caseload involving insurance defense litigation, including personal injury and liability claims.
• Draft and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery responses with precision and attention to detail.
• Conduct and defend depositions, ensuring thorough preparation and effective execution.
• Develop and implement case strategies by analyzing legal issues and evaluating settlement opportunities.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, including motion hearings, pretrial conferences, and trials.
• Collaborate with internal teams and insurance carriers to provide legal advice and support.
• Perform comprehensive legal research and prepare briefs and memoranda to support litigation strategies.
• Facilitate arbitration hearings and negotiate settlements to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Maintain organized case files, ensuring all deadlines and legal requirements are met.
• Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders to address case progress and legal concerns. Requirements
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in New Jersey; additional licensure in Pennsylvania or Michigan is a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance defense or civil litigation.
• Strong knowledge of personal injury law, liability defense, and insurance claims.
• Proficiency in drafting legal documents, conducting depositions, and preparing for trial.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly.
• Familiarity with legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently while meeting strict deadlines.
