un ⚐ ⚑ ⚑ Attorney Wanted for Abuse of Process Lawsuit (Northern NJ) compensation: TBD employment type: experience level: mid level job title: Attorney Wanted for Abuse of Process Action I have a client who seeks to file a claim for abuse of process. The case involves a completely frivolous motion brought by the victims in a criminal case to disqualify me as counsel for the defendant in a criminal matter. The case involved six months of motion hearings and testimony. Ultimately, the criminal court denied the motion and concluded that there was no competent evidence presented to disqualify me. There is a related civil action where my client and I are both defendants. At least I was a defendant. As a result of the motion decision the victims, who are also the civil plaintiffs, have voluntarily dismissed me from the civil action. As part of the settlement, I am unable to proceed with the abuse of process claim. The complaint is prepared. My client wants to move forward with this with new counsel. Principals only.
