Summary We are seeking a talented Associate Attorney with 3 to 6 years of litigation experience, preferably with a concentration in matrimonial and family law. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven legal professional who thrives in complex family law matters—including high-asset divorce, child custody disputes, and equitable distribution—as well as select commercial litigation cases. The successful candidate will bring strong research and writing capabilities, courtroom competence, and a collaborative mindset. Key Responsibilities Provide legal representation in family and matrimonial law matters Draft and revise motions, pleadings, settlement agreements, and legal memoranda Conduct legal research and oversee all aspects of discovery Appear and advocate in New York State courts Counsel clients on nuanced legal issues including custody, support, maintenance, and property division Engage in settlement discussions, mediations, and negotiations Develop litigation strategies in coordination with colleagues Handle multiple cases concurrently with efficiency and attention to detail Educational & Licensing Requirements & Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school Admission to practice law in New York State 3-6 years of hands-on experience in family and/or matrimonial law, or 5-7 years of general litigation with a clear focus or demonstrated interest in this area Proficiency in motion practice, discovery management, and drafting legal agreements Familiarity with courtroom procedures and experience litigating in New York State courts preferred Sensitivity to emotional and confidential aspects of family law cases, with sound professional judgment
