Job Description
Description We are looking for a skilled Attorney with expertise in employment litigation to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with a boutique employment law firm located in New York, New York, handling diverse cases and providing strategic legal counsel. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in defending against employment-related claims, advising clients on compliance, and navigating complex legal disputes.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in employment-related litigation cases, including wrongful termination, wage disputes, and discrimination claims.
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and provide clients with well-informed guidance.
- Prepare for and participate in mediations, arbitrations, and other dispute resolution processes.
- Advise employers on risk mitigation strategies and compliance with labor laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with team members and clients to develop effective case strategies and solutions.
- Manage case files and ensure all deadlines are met in a timely and organized manner.
- Provide legal counsel on employment policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Stay updated on changes in employment law and incorporate them into client strategies. Requirements
- Licensed attorney with active NY and NJ Bar membership.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in employment litigation, including defending against various employment-related claims.
- Strong drafting skills with the ability to create clear and persuasive legal documents.
- Proven ability to conduct detailed legal research and apply findings effectively.
- Experience in mediations, arbitrations, and dispute resolution processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for client interactions and courtroom presentations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Immediate availability to begin work and contribute to the firm’s growing caseload.
