Position:

HLA seeks both experienced and newly or soon-to-be licensed attorneys to join our family law practice in either our Family Court Program or Civil Program. Both programs represent adults in custody and visitation, family offense, and support and paternity cases in Onondaga County courts. The Family Court Program also represents adults in abuse and neglect cases while the Civil Program handles divorce and matrimonial matters. We provide compassionate, client-centered legal services and guide clients through some of life’s most challenging moments with professionalism and care. Our attorneys are collaborative and supportive and enjoy strong supervision, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. A dedicated team of Law Assistants provides administrative support. Come do great work with great people and fight for justice for all!

Qualifications:

Admission or pending admission to New York Bar. Strong written and oral advocacy skills. Commitment to helping people in need. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Diverse economic, social, and/or cultural experiences welcomed and valued. Sense of humor appreciated.

Salary:

Base salary of $80,500 to $105,018 annually for all attorneys admitted to New York Bar depending on candidate qualifications and experience, and lawyers in the Family Court Program receive an additional $5,000 annual stipend in addition to their base salary. Law graduates awaiting admission to the Bar and eligible for a practice order start at $70,500 and receive a $10,000 increase upon admission.
