We are seeking a skilled and proactive In-House Legal Counsel to join our team and provide expert legal support across all areas of our business operations.
We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Counsel to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various areas of law, including Environmental Law, , and Workers Compensation Law. This role requires excellent negotiation skills, proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis, and the ability to provide sound legal advice to clients. The Counsel will play a critical role in advising on estate planning matters and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Responsibilities Provide legal advice and guidance on a variety of legal issues, including but not limited to estate planning, environmental law, and . Conduct thorough legal research using platforms like Westlaw and LexisNexis to support case preparation and client inquiries. Negotiate contracts and agreements on behalf of clients, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with applicable laws. Draft legal documents, including contracts, wills, trusts, and other estate planning instruments. Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, or other dispute resolution processes as needed. Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may affect clients’ interests or the firm’s practice areas. Collaborate with other attorneys within the law office to develop comprehensive legal strategies for clients. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD)degree from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction. Strong knowledge of estate planning, environmental law, securities law, and workers compensation law. Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively for clients’ interests. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in drafting legal documents. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while managing individual caseloads effectively. Prior experience in a law office setting is preferred but not required.
