POSITION :

Elder Law & Estate Planning Attorney

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Elder Law and Estate Planning Attorney to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse clientele while developing expertise across multiple practice areas within elder law and estate planning. The successful candidate will primarily work from our McMurray, PA office with occasional travel to serve clients at our regional locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Elder Law and Estate Planning

  • Draft comprehensive estate plans including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives
  • Develop sophisticated estate planning strategies for high-net-worth clients
  • Advise clients on asset protection, tax minimization, and wealth transfer strategies
  • Handle complex trust administration and estate settlement matters Medicaid Planning and Applications
  • Prepare and submit Medicaid applications for long-term care benefits
  • Develop asset protection strategies to preserve client resources while qualifying for benefits
  • Navigate Medicaid appeals and fair hearings when necessary
  • Stay current on changing Medicaid regulations and eligibility requirements Orphans Court Litigation
  • Represent clients in guardianship and conservatorship proceedings
  • Handle contested will and trust disputes
  • Manage estate administration litigation
  • Appear in Orphans Court for various proceedings and hearings Client Relations and Business Development
  • Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and updates
  • Participate in community outreach and educational seminars
  • Contribute to firm marketing and business development initiatives
  • Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals Required Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in Pennsylvania
  • 3-5 years of experience in elder law, estate planning, or related practice areas
  • Experience with Orphans Court proceedings and litigation
  • Strong drafting and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficiency in legal research and case management software Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with high-net-worth estate planning and complex trust structures
  • Previous experience in a growing law practice environment
  • Familiarity with Pennsylvania-specific elder law and estate planning statutes
  • Experience with tax planning and preparation
  • Demonstrated experience with Medicaid applications and planning

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

:

  • Ability to travel occasionally to regional office locations
  • Comfortable with both office-based work and client meetings
  • Ability to attend court proceedings and hearings as required
