We’re looking for a Claims Counsel to join our team and provide key legal guidance on coverage issues across a range of claim types. This is a dynamic role where you’ll make meaningful contributions to our claims process and collaborate across teams to deliver thoughtful, customer-focused outcomes.

In This Role, You’ll:

Assess Coverage Issues Analyze and evaluate coverage for Professional, Casualty, and Property claims. Craft Clear Communications Draft detailed coverage and denial letters to ensure transparency with policyholders and stakeholders. Oversee Litigation Supervise outside counsel and manage ongoing coverage litigation with strategic oversight. Be a Trusted Advisor Act as internal legal counsel to assist claims adjusters in navigating complex coverage questions. Negotiate Settlements Resolve claims through proactive negotiation within designated authority limits. Conduct Legal Research Utilize legal research tools to provide coverage opinions across various product lines. Educate and Inform Develop and deliver training sessions for internal claims teams on key legal and coverage topics. Support Policy Development Collaborate with underwriting and legal teams to refine and draft policy language. Travel When Needed Attend mediations, arbitrations, and trials, and participate in customer service visits as required.

What You’ll Bring:

Education:

Juris Doctorate (JD)

Experience:

3-7 years in claims handling, coverage litigation, or legal counsel roles with a strong focus on insurance coverage

Proficiency in legal research platforms like

Westlaw Key Strengths:
