NJ Barred-Education Law Attorney (remote) Position Available In Richland, South Carolina

Beacon Hill Legal’s client, a law firm located in Scotch Plains, NJ, is seeking a NJ barred Education Law Attorney for an open-ended contract assignment. Our client is open to candidates at varying levels of experience, including new graduates and attorneys seeking a transition into education law and with a preference for exposure to education law, special education, labor/employment law, or public sector work is preferred. Pay is dependent upon experience, but compensation would be between $50-55 per hour.

Responsibilities:

Conduct legal research and apply findings to support a wide range of client matters, including both litigation and general counsel issues. Draft legal documents such as memos, correspondence, contracts, policies, motions, and briefs, under the guidance of senior attorneys. Assist in litigation and administrative proceedings, including discovery, hearing preparation, and client representation as appropriate. Participate in advising public school clients on legal obligations involving governance, compliance, student and personnel matters, and special education. Attend board of education meetings, IEP meetings, mediations, and administrative hearings, with mentorship and supervision. Monitor and manage legal deadlines and assist with procedural compliance. Maintain organized case files and contribute to high-quality, responsive client service.

Qualifications:

Admitted and in good standing with NJ state bar Ability to work remote on this assignment Interest in public education and a desire to support school districts and students through the legal system. Excellent legal research and writing skills. Strong analytical thinking and communication skills.
