Job Description
The Chattanooga Office has an immediate opening for a litigation associate with 1-5 years of experience. The successful candidate will be part of the business litigation practice group which handles litigation matters for corporate clients. If interested, please send resume to Yolanda Irby . General Description The position will work closely with Members and staff to support client needs by conducting legal research, drafting of motions, pleadings, discovery, court appearances, case management, and client communication. Duties and Responsibilities Meeting with clients and executing contracts that specify the parameters of the working relationship. Drafting initial pleadings, witness deposition preparation, preparing and responding to written discovery, extensive motions practice, bench and jury trials. Ability to assist with a case from beginning to conclusion. Research on various issues, fact development, managing and assisting with document production. Working knowledge of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. Position Requirements Candidate must possess a JD from an accredited law school and a strong academic record (Top 15% preferred). Must have the ability to work proactively, independently and demonstrate excellent analytical, writing, research and communication skills. Must maintain strong attention to detail. Must possess ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Licensed in Tennessee desired, although candidates who are eligible and/or willing to become licensed in Tennessee will be considered.
