Job Description

Vermont Contract Attorney 5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars Vermont • Remote Guardian Litigation Group represents financially distressed individuals across the country facing collection actions, creditor harassment and wage garnishments. Our team of attorneys are exceptional strategizers and negotiators, allowing them to provide successful representation and legal counsel to existing clients. They conduct legal research, draft legal documents, keep client files up to date, and appear in court. With the exponential growth we currently face, we are looking for a licensed attorney to join our growing practice on a contract basis. The position primarily entails remote work with the exception of appearing in court as necessary.

Key job duties include:

Preparing correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings Conducting legal research, preparing for and attending hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and providing legal counsel Analyzing conflicts in legal matters, advising clients on solutions, and negotiating on behalf of clients Maintain active communication with Guardian’s legal assistants and clients, responding to requests in a timely fashion to ensure cases are handled efficiently Maintaining client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for associate attorneys, case managers, and other support staff To be considered for Contract Attorney, you should: Have successfully completed law school, passed the state bar exam, and have a completed Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school Be an active member of the American Bar Association (ABA) Be licensed to practice law in Vermont Have the proficiency to work with Guardian’s attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our clientele Possess phenomenal communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills required to efficiently work with clients, other attorneys, case managers, and other support staff Prior experience in debtor rights, including collections actions, FDCPA/TCPA/FCRA, and bankruptcy is a huge plus!
