Job Description
We do Consulting Differently Our Case Assistant position supports the BRG Construction practice. We offer professional construction consulting experience and competence in fact finding, data analytics, claims/dispute analysis and management, and litigation support; along with technical expertise in engineering, architecture, construction management, public contracting, specifications and technical document development, schedule development and analysis, cost analysis, negotiations, and expert witness testimony. This person has to be a proficient problem solver with strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills. Candidates must be able to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations and handle confidential matters with discretion. Job Responsibilities Work as part of the engagement team performing assigned specific tasks, including: Support fee applications and billing, including maintaining case files, tracking fees, expenses, and payments across multiple cases, Organize and proofread time records, prepare draft legal filings, finalize invoices, and correspond with legal professionals. Assist with document management, data analysis, and report preparation. Conduct quality control reviews, including editing documents, sourcing footnotes and verifying references. Review and organize case documents and data for accuracy and accessibility. Research case-related information, primarily supporting construction-related matters. Ensure client reports meet the highest quality standards through diligent review and support. Assist the Project Managers, including: Assist in preparing and updating project budgets. Assist with accounts receivable process, including contacting clients to manage accounts receivable, when necessary. Prepare conflict check requests, engagement letter requests, subcontractor agreement and task order requests. Managing project deadline calendars. Assist the Experts, including: Manage extensive travel schedule. Book and track flights, hotels, rental cars, etc. Prepare and submit correct and complete expense reports. Compile marketing and sales materials of firm qualifications and Expert’s credentials for prospects. Updating Expert’s Curriculum Vitae in standard format. Manage interface with internal IT department for new computers, internet issues, etc. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred Familiarity with and ability to parse legal and regulatory language is strongly preferred. Contract drafting capability is preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including editing and quality control, and document review experience.
Work Style:
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and proactively solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
Time Management:
Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure and meet required deadlines.
Flexibility:
Willingness to occasionally work overtime as needed. Experience with travel logistics and planning Research skills a plus; knowledge of general litigation proceedings a plus. This person will be expected to work remotely so long as candidate resides in Florida. Candidate must be able to submit verification of his/her legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.
Salary range:
$50,000-$65,000 #
