Position Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Civil Legal Case Manager to join our legal team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the efficient management of civil cases from intake to resolution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management & Tracking Manage a caseload of active civil litigation matters, ensuring all deadlines and court dates are met Maintain case calendars, monitor key dates, and ensure timely filings Client Communication Act as a liaison between clients and attorneys Provide updates and respond to client inquiries professionally and promptly Document Preparation & Filing Assist with drafting, reviewing, and filing legal documents including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery Organize and maintain case files (electronic and paper) in accordance with firm protocols Legal Research & Investigation Conduct preliminary legal and factual research to support case strategies Gather and analyze evidence, including documents, records, and witness statements Court Coordination Coordinate court appearances, depositions, mediations, and other legal proceedings File legal documents with courts (electronically or in-person depending on jurisdiction) Team Collaboration Support attorneys with trial preparation Work closely with paralegals, legal assistants, and administrative staff to ensure seamless case handling
Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, or related field (Paralegal Certificate a plus) 2+ years of experience in a law firm or legal department focused on civil litigation Strong understanding of civil court procedures and terminology Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase, or similar) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong time management skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a high-volume civil litigation practice Bilingual (English/Spanish or other language) a plus Familiarity with e-filing systems in multiple jurisdictions Flexible work from home options available.
