General Description:
The Litigation Legal Analyst assists the Litigation Department in performance of all litigation support responsibilities and duties including document management, file preparation, invoicing, metrics, and scheduling as further outlined below:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Review of new lawsuits, creates and maintains automated system litigation files for assignment to litigation staff and outside counsel. Review and processing of approved invoices for payment in the system, including ensuring proper rates, tracking and follow-up. Create, input, maintain, and present monthly Litigation Metrics Reports to the VP of Legal & Compliance and Litigation Manager for ultimate sharing with the President and Group executives. These reports measure the litigation team’s performance and identify potential trends over time and recommendations relating to those trends. Create, input, and maintain complex monthly invoices, legal fees and other vendor reports presenting trends and recommended actions to executive management for review and control costs. Set controls and monitor the legal billing system to ensure that vendors are billing according to the agreed upon rates. File litigation pleadings with the Clerk of Court electronically statewide. Gather, analyze, and store research data such as statutes, case law, & codes. Distribute department correspondence as needed to the appropriate individuals. Manage the legal expenses savings initiatives relating to outside vendors. Manage the administrative closure of files, ensuring proper documentation is included for archiving (release, orders of dismissals, etc.) Coordinate schedules and travel for litigation staff as needed (depositions, mediations, trials, etc.) Draft, edit, and mail required correspondence for litigation staff. Provide any other support service to the entire Legal & Compliance staff, as requested.

Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of experience and a Bachelors’ degree required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook and Word with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint is required. OnBase, CaseGlide, and Guidewire proficiency are a plus. Ability to work well with others to include executives and personnel from all levels of the company. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Organizational/multi-task-oriented skills are essential in this position. Ability to work well under pressure and short notice to support needs of the department.
