Peer Support Specialist Position Available In Chowan, North Carolina

Peer Support Specialist Faith Counseling And Clinical Consultation Services, PLLC Edenton, NC 27932 We are looking for a Peer Support Specialist who uses their lived experience of recovery from mental health and/or substance use challenges to provide support, encouragement, and mentorship to individuals currently navigating similar journeys. Peer Support Specialists build trusting relationships and serve as role models for hope, empowerment, and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide peer-to-peer support through one-on-one and group sessions. Share personal experiences to promote recovery, resilience, and self-determination. Help clients set and work toward personal goals, including wellness, education, housing, employment, and social connection. Assist individuals in accessing community resources and navigating service systems (e.g., healthcare, housing, benefits). Advocate with and for clients to support their rights and choices. Promote client self-advocacy and empowerment. Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical peer support practices. Document services provided, goals, and progress in accordance with organizational policies. Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training.

Qualifications:

Required:

Experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery. Completion of an approved Peer Support Specialist training or

WILLINGNESS

to obtain certification. Ability to relate effectively and respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills. Basic computer skills (for documentation and communication). Area We are looking to hire qualified individuals for peer Support Specialists in Eastern North Carolina the counties of Tyrrell County, Pasquotank County, Perquimans County Chowan County and Dare County. We will provide Peer Support training and certifications for those interested. Pay You can look forward to making $15 an hour and up depending on qualifications and experience, including incentives!
