Child Support Agent II POS# 106000220 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars 109 Bradford Avenue, Fayetteville, NC 28301 Position Overview Join our dynamic team as a Child Support Agent II, where you’ll embark on a journey-level role within one of our Enforcement Units. As a key member, you’ll manage a substantial caseload, gathering evidence, preparing legal documents, filing motions, calculating arrears, determining the appropriate course of action, and assisting department attorneys in the courtroom and provide essential Child Support services while ensuring compliance with federal and state time standards. While working independently, you’ll receive guidance and support from designated Lead Agents and Supervisors, fostering collaborative problem-solving and professional growth. Examples of Duties Provide mandated child support services which include location of noncustodial parents, administrative and judicial establishment of paternity and support orders Work involves gathering evidence, drafting legal orders, and computation of the appropriate child support amount using NC Child Support Guidelines Determining proper course of action and assisting the staff attorney with preparation for court as well as presenting cases with the staff attorney in the courtroom Minimum Qualifications Four-year degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, human resources, paralegal, accounting, or other closely related degree and 6 months of experience in areas of child support, social services eligibility, investigations, legal, or finance that provide the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work or Graduation from an accredited two-year college or technical school with a degree in business administration, human resources, paralegal, accounting, or other closely related degree and 2 ½ years of experience in areas of child support, social services eligibility, investigations, legal, or finance that provide the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work or Graduation from high school and 4 1/2 years of experience in areas of child support, social services eligibility, investigations, legal, or finance that provide the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience Necessary additional requirements: Successful completion of Basic Math, Reading Comprehension, Spelling and Basic Word tests will be required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of the Child Support Enforcement Program and Automated Case Tracking System (ACTS), related legal procedures, judicial operations, and office management practices and procedures Skill in interviewing, investigating, and analyzing case variables Ability to organize and summarize case information Ability to represent child support program in oral and written form Ability to analyze and interpret rules, regulations, and procedures
