This temporary position is located in Raleigh, NC – Wake County.

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay:

$40.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Public Safety. This position is located at 512 N Salisbury St, Raleigh, NC 27604.

Remote:

up to 2 days a week.

This position supports the Division of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. This position reports to a Deputy General Counsel and will provide the following services: (1) assist in the drafting and legal review of Department contracts and memoranda of understanding: (2) assist in policy development and the legal review of proposed policies and standard operating procedures: (3) provide legal counsel and advice regarding statutes. policies, and rules applicable to al l aspects of juvenile justice, including but not limited torelevant statutes in the

NC Juvenile Code:

(4) assist in the drafting and legal review of department-sponsored legislation in the area of juvenile justice;(5) assist in creating and delivering training on legal topics to juvenile justice personnel. including assisting with the development of written training materials: (6) provide consultation and guidance to juvenile justice official regarding requests for confidential juvenile records. which involves the application of complex federal and state privacy laws; and(7) review internal administrative investigations into allegations that an employee violated an agency policy.

This position may also provide other legal advice and assistance to Department administration and management as needed. The employee must use good judgment, demonstrate initiative, and exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive or confidential issues or information. Complex or controversial problems arc discussed with 1he supervisor. The supervisor provides verbal and written guidance and feedback to, the position. Supervision is also received through review of reports and discussions as to the status of assignments. This position ordinarily works forty hours a week. Work occasionally requires travel within the state.
