This role includes auditing, training, incident management, and fostering strong partnerships with store managers and regional directors to minimize risks and promote a safety-first culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Leadership & Training Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of safety programs tailored to retail and transportation operations. Conduct ongoing safety training sessions for both store and transportation teams, covering topics such as emergency procedures, hazard recognition, PPE usage, first aid, OSHA compliance, and hazardous material handling. Distribute monthly safety training topics and ensure completion across all locations. Champion a safety-first culture by serving as a visible, credible leader, encouraging employees to report hazards and engage in safety initiatives. Promote behavioral safety programs and employee participation in continuous improvement efforts. Risk Assessment, Compliance & Emergency Preparedness Perform regular safety audits and risk assessments of store and transportation environments. Identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and track resolution to completion. Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA standards, fire codes, and emergency equipment requirements. Maintain, update, and regularly test emergency preparedness plans across all locations. Serve as the primary point of contact for emergency services and corporate safety communications during critical incidents. Loss Prevention Operations Conduct comprehensive LP audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure policy compliance. Investigate internal theft tips and incidents; document findings in the LP reporting system and take appropriate corrective actions. Audit financial and transactional activity (e.g., voids, refunds, cash handling, suspended transactions), and resolve anomalies with appropriate teams. Monitor LP concerns within transportation operations, including unauthorized stops, driver KPIs, camera tampering, and other incidents in partnership with the Regional Transportation Team. Incident Response & Investigation Lead the response to accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents, ensuring timely reporting and thorough root cause analysis. Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve safety outcomes. Collaborate with HR and Legal to manage worker’s compensation claims and maintain accurate incident documentation. Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement Compile and analyze data related to safety incidents, theft, workers’ compensation (WC), general liability (GL), auto claims, and other high-risk exposures. Identify patterns and trends to drive strategic recommendations. Measure and track performance against Safety and Loss Prevention Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Collaborate with leadership teams to improve safety programs, processes, and technologies across the organization. Collaboration & Communication Participate in weekly check-ins with the LP & Safety Director and monthly regional team calls. Work cross-functionally with IT, vendors, HR, store and transportation management to maintain safety systems and promote operational efficiency. Communicate audit findings, incident trends, safety initiatives, and LP updates clearly and effectively to regional leaders and stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Business Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of safety management experience in a retail, warehouse, or customer-facing environment. Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and workplace safety regulations. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA 30-Hour General Industry, or equivalent certification preferred. Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead by example and influence cross-functional team
Physical Requirements Computer Work:

Travel:
Occasional travel to various Company locations may be required. Travel may involve activities such as driving, conducting on-site visits, and/or attending meetings.

Manual Dexterity:
Frequent use of hands and fingers for tasks such as typing, writing, and handling office equipment are necessary.
Safety:
Adherence to safety guidelines and protocols when visiting physical locations is required.
Environment:
The role may require working in various environments, including office settings for remote work and on-site visits to Company locations. These environments may encompass both indoor and outdoor spaces, with the possibility of exposure to different weather conditions and physical surroundings. Adaptability to different working conditions is essential. Language Requirements Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required, both verbal and written.
