un ⚐ ⚑ ⚑ Security Operations Specialist I North Carolina Education Lottery compensation: 0.0-46434.0 employment type: The purpose of this position is to provide support for retailers, staff, and the general public by conducting criminal and administrative investigations, completing the two daily live drawings, and as providing a physical security presence around the clock. You’ll be completing incident reports, investigating player complaints, analyzing data, conducting the daily draw process, certifying and distributing the winning numbers, as well as monitoring all North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) regional facilities across the state. Responsibilities:
Completes investigations, writes reports, and conducts phone interviews concerning theft, fraud, damage to property, and other Lottery related incidents reported by retailers and players. Uses Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and other reporting tools every day to analyze gaming data to resolve player disputes regarding proper payment of lottery tickets. Responds to emails and phone calls concerning missing ticket inventory from vendors and internal departments, and utilizes backend software systems to change ticket statuses appropriately. Maintains the integrity of the daily live draw process by following a highly detailed procedure, including working with an auditor to certify and distribute the winning numbers, with either the traditional draw or RNG machines. Responds to onsite physical security concerns/alarms. Monitors all NCEL regional facilities via security cameras and access control software. Creates identification and access badges. Other duties include assisting NCEL Investigators, law enforcement and internal partners; data entry to verify security functionality of new scratch off games; and other security administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalency. Associates Degree preferred Minimum of 2 years of experience conducting criminal and administrative investigations, and writing detailed reports Minimum of 2 years of experience conducting investigative interviews to detect deception, evasion, or fraud Experience using Microsoft Excel and other data base tools to analyze data to determine the validity and accuracy of investigation and interview findings General knowledge of laws and procedures Provide Customer Service and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Intermediate level skills in MS Office, Excel, Word, and Access Strong attention to detail and ability to complete step-by-step processes

Hiring Range:
