Individual must be able to work on site at our back office operations center on Anderson Road in Rock Hill, SC. Remote work is not available.

Job Summary:

The Loss Mitigation Specialists are responsible for accurate file preparation, maintenance, and completion of collection litigation files. The individual must have general knowledge of the loan and collection process. Prepare judgment filing packages for Magistrate Court cases and Superior Court actions on charged-off debts, fraudulent return checks, and negative shares and ensure accurate tracking within the collection software. Document and place appropriate note types and perform the appropriate file maintenance on accounts within Keystone and the collection software to coincide with the collection efforts. Clearly communicate and respond to vast amounts of emails with legal counsel regarding the pending cases. Ensure accuracy of loan payment history and each account balance. Research and prepare court hearing packages to assist with defending answers filed by the membership. Attend judgment hearings as a credit union witness as necessary. Assist members, branch staff, and 3rd parties with settlement negotiations and prepare necessary documentation needed for settlement approval. Communicate, document, and distribute correspondence once settlement amount has been approved. Post proceeds received from a judgment settlement, reinstatement of mortgage loan, and/or sale proceeds from foreclosed property accurately to the account and the corresponding GL accounts specified for fees and costs. Prepare, record, and document judgment satisfactions on paid out accounts. Monitor the accurate placement of dates in Keystone to ensure accurate 1099-C tax reporting. Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external legal counsel, court personnel and magistrates within the credit unions core markets. Search for assets and complete internal property evaluations on existing judgments for execution prior to expiration of a judgment lien.

Job Specifications:

Individuals must possess great organizational skills, be detail oriented, and able to work individually as well as in a team environment. Individuals must be a self-starter, possess problem solving skills, and be able to work at a fast pace and handle large volumes of work. Individuals must have a good working knowledge of Word and Excel. Candidate must be available Monday
